At Emerald Dance Collective, we believe in the transformative power of the arts. The emerald symbolizes growth, clarity, love, and healing, and we are devoted to creating a space where individuals of all ages can explore their creativity, express themselves freely, and experience the joy of movement.
Our mission is to nurture a vibrant and inclusive community in Lauderdale County where emotional healing, artistic discovery, and personal growth are at the heart of everything we do. We strive to inspire confidence, encourage resilience, and help our students connect with their inner voice.
We are more than a studio. We are a collective of artists, dreamers, and movers who are passionate about cultivating harmony, balance, and love through every step, every leap, and every performance.
Founder
Leah-Jean Guffey
Mrs. Leah is the founder of the first dance studio in Lauderdale County. The studio began as GG's Dance Co. in 2019. Over the years Mrs. Leah's vision adapted and she rebranded to L.M.ent Dance Studios to reflect how she wanted dancers to strive to always be in their element.
Leah believes that dance is more than just movement; it’s a language that teaches resilience, expression, and confidence. Her mission has always been to cultivate thoughtful, well-rounded artists who aren't afraid to shine, dream big, and work hard.
She continues to give back to the arts community by assisting local color guard teams and supporting Ripley High School’s dance and band programs, as well as our programming here at EDC.
Now, Mrs. Leah has stepped back from the studio to focus on her family, teaching elementary school, and her music. We are so proud of her successes and can't wait to see all she will accomplish in the future!
