About Emerald Elite Team
What is it?
Our Emerald Elite Team is a travel competition team that attends competitions and conventions across Tennessee and nearby states.
We attend 3 mandatory competitions and one mandatory convention each year. As well as many optional events.
Requirements
At least 1 year of dance experience required. Exceptions will be made on a case by case basis.
Must have a positive attitude.
We are looking for dancers that have potential, a desire to perform, are hard working, that are not afraid to sweat, and will go the extra mile without being asked to.
Some of the things that will be judged other than technique are performance quality, ability to pick up choreography, focus/attention while learning, focus while performing, technique, body alignment, and confidence. This does not mean that you necessarily have to be great at all of these things, we just want to see the potential and the desire to learn.

Required Skills:
- Single Jazz and Ballet Pirouettes on the right and left
- One of their splits (right, left, or center)
- 10 pushups
- 1 min 30 sec plank
- Grande Jeté (right and left)
- Sou de Chat (right and left)
- Cartwheel (right or left)
Recommended Skills:
- Firebird (11+)
- Leap in second (for 11+)
- Calypso (for 11+)
- Axel (for 11+)
- Turning C jump (for 11+)
- Tour jeté (for 11+)
- Fouetté or A la Seconde turns (for 11+)
- Butterfly Jump (11+)
